A POST FROM BROCK
Thursday, January 29, 2009
Sorry, I know Christmas was so last year, I'm just slow!
You can't tell in this picture but there are over 70,0000 lights on the house behind us, it is truly the Christmas Vacation house. The owners are friends of ours and every Christmas Eve Santa's out front. He always has treats and a surprise for our kids. Brock thinks if we decorated our house as good as theirs Santa would visit us too.
Brock loved helping Lacey open her gifts, and she just loved the paper.
Brock loved helping Lacey open her gifts, and she just loved the paper.
I made sure and started after we got married. But little did I know the boys would make up their own tradition. I didn't even find out about it till Brock was four and while making his house he said "my favorite part is hitting this with my bat" I looked at him confused and Justin just started laughing. They had been beating all the houses after Christmas on Saturdays I worked. It has since then escalated with the use of fire works, and guns for the demos.

SLOW DOWN DECEMBER!
You know when your little and it seems like December is the longest month of the year. You count down every day, just getting a little bit closer to Christmas. Well, those days are long gone for me. I feel like every December is such a mad rush, with no time to get everything done. This year has been even more crazy! Getting ready to move, having a Lacey who is attached to the hip and still working a couple of day's each week.
To add to all that Justin and I were invited on a manager 's trip his company has every year. This meant 4 days of just the 2 of us. I was really excited to go but as the trip got closer I was sick to my stomach about leaving the kids. I don't think I ate in the 24 hrs before we left. But thanks to my in-laws, Laura, and Mary my kids were well taken care of.
This year's trip was in Vegas and we stayed at Cesar's Palace. The room was great, and it was so nice to have the Forum shops in our hotel. We stayed up late, made donations to the casino, slept in, ate lots of good food, and we saw the show Jersey Boy's which was awesome. We even bought the soundtrack. On our last night his company hosted a banquet. They served a really good dinner then brought in a hypnotist, which I end up participating in. I'm told, he made it so I couldn't say my name and if I tried I stuttered, and I ended up shaking my booty for the whole audience. Which included all the store managers their wives, the higher ups in corporate and the 2 owners of the company Yea! One comment was I only needed a pole. (I'm so proud!) I met more people after the show than I had the whole trip. Hmm, I wonder why. All in all it was a great time, can't wait till next year.
HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A MERRY CHRISTMAS!

It's no party without Karaoke!
Anyone who has been to our house knows you have to take a turn and sing. That is, if Justin will share the stage. So the Friday after Thanksgiving Garret, Julie and Justin's friend of 31 years Chris and his family(who were in town visiting his parents) came over for pizza and Karaoke. Usually we're all taking turns as adults, but this year all the kids wanted turns. Don't be jealous ladies. He's all mine!
